A care job marketplace for agencies in Germany

For more than 15 years, VITANAS has recruited caregivers for elderly people to work in Germany. As a partner, we took over development and maintenance of the mamamia platform: we build out features, simplify applying and integrate the platform with the client’s systems.

Challenge

On one side are agencies and families in Germany, on the other caregivers and agencies from Eastern Europe. The platform has to connect them without unnecessary steps.

VITANAS needed a partner to take over platform development and technical support. The goal was faster, more effective recruitment: candidates should easily find a job and apply, and agencies should quickly judge who fits the patient’s needs.

We took over part of the client’s IT capabilities. We are responsible for development: we ship new features (a job board, filtering, the application and contact process), take care of scalability and connect the platform with VITANAS’s internal systems.

Two dashboards, one recruitment process

Jobs and clients

The agency sees all its jobs in one table: arrival and departure dates, location, budget and activity for each one. Tabs split jobs into those with no activity, with applications, accepted and interrupted. The client profile holds their job history together with caregivers, agencies and ratings.

Applications and offers

The agency compares caregiver applications: fit for the job, monthly cost of care, dates, travel costs and a message from the caregiver agency. Application details show the current offer, and from the same window it can be rejected or answered with a counteroffer.

Job board

Caregiver agencies browse open jobs in clear cards: dates, pay, location, required language level and driving license. The filters answer the questions that really drive the choice: number and gender of patients, mobility, dementia or night care.

Caregivers and applying

The agency adds a new caregiver by uploading her profile as a PDF. The details only need to be checked, or they can be filled in by hand. Applying for a job goes through sections: profile, basic details and offer. The caregiver profile keeps her job history with client ratings.

Messages

Conversations with agencies are in one place, split into all, unread and archived. Next to the chat you can see what the conversation is about: the job, the caregiver and her application details, and one button takes you to the booking.

Scope of work
